We’re still not sure how our application was singled out along with Baby Shaker – an app which simulates shaking a crying baby until it stops. Cartoon poops with names like “Gorillas in the Mist” or “Baby Brown Manatee” = funny, and are well within Apple’s content guidelines. Shaking a baby to death? Not so much.
The vast majority of reviewers seem to understand our intent upon downloading PTW. However, there are those who choose to take the “high brow” route without doing their research, and denouncing anything in the app store which does not measure up to their puritan standards. Rather than applauding the fact that developers are pushing the boundaries of creativity and innovation in all directions with smart phone technology, they would rather make some profound statement about how applications like iBeer or PTW are the bane of present day culture, or are somehow linked to the recent economic collapse.
There is no question that POOP THE WORLD will never win an award for solving hunger, or revolutionizing education. But as Milton Berle once said, “laughing is an instant vacation,” and as we see it, anywhere you can find humor in your daily life is worthwhile.
